Scholarship Program Guidelines
The Mystic Runners Club's mission includes a commitment to support and encourage the sport of running, and to improve the physical and mental health, and social well-being of its members. In addition, It seeks to contribute to the welfare of the local community and to excel as a community organization.
To that end, we have established a Scholarship program. This program is intended to benefit the running community by supporting three (3) local athletes who demonstrate excellence in both running and academics.
We invite graduating seniors in our community to apply for a one-time award of $1,000.00 using the attached application form with the accompanying rules and guidelines.
The successful scholarship candidate shall demonstrate quality academic performance shown through a combination of grades, level of difficulty of curriculum; be a proven leader in the candidate’s school or peer group; demonstrate sincere commitment to some form of community service or helping others; and show that the candidate has maximized his/her running potential.
Applications will be evaluated and judgments awarded by a panel of Mystic Runner Committee Members.

President's Message May 12, 2019
There was a lot of work done to get this program underway and to see this through to our first award presentation. First, I want to personally THANK our committee members for the work that has taken place during the preparation, roll-out and selection process. Secondly, I want to THANK our members for all their hard work, that which takes place at our annual race as funding for this program began with the 2016 Mystic Classic. And finally, it is our hope to grow this program in the years to come through our annual race and perhaps other opportunities. This is certainly an exciting time for our club. Congratulations to both Ben and Annalisa!!

The Mystic Runners are proud to announce the first year recipients of the club's annual Scholarship Award. The Mystic Running Club Scholarship Award is offered to (2) graduating and college-applied senior athletes from local cross country and track programs and is funded by the club's annual racing event, The Mystic Classic.
Offered for the first time here in 2019, our award recipients met or exceeded the criteria set by the club's (5) member committee.
This year's female and male athletic recipients are:
Ben Vanasse - Class of 2019, Reading High School. Plans to attend Saint Anselm College majoring in Biology
Annalisa Eramo - Class of 2019, Stoneham High School. Plans to attend either Bentley University or UMass-Amherst, major TBD.
